Peanut/Cotton Field Day Tuesday, July 23, 2013
(please note: There will be no charge to attend the meeting)
The Texas A & M AgriLife Extension Service will conduct a Cotton/Peanut Field Day on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 that will focus on mid-to-late season management including disease, water management, and fungicide applications, cotton and peanut diseases, pod rot, insect pest management, etc. Wheat production will also be discussed.
The annual Cotton/Peanut Field Day will begin at the Gaines County Civic Building located at 402 N. W. 5th Street, Seminole, Texas. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the program and possible tours to area fields departing at 9:00 a.m.
Dr. Jason E. Woodward - Plant Pathologist for Texas A & M AgriLife Extension, Dr. Calvin Trostle -Texas A & M AgriLife Extension Agronomist, Dr. Mark Kelley - Texas A & M AgriLife Extension Cotton Agronomist, Manda Anderson - Texas A & M AgriLife Extension IPM Agent, and Terry Millican - Texas A & M AgriLife Extension Agriculture Agent, will be present to discuss peanut and cotton production practices including mid-to-late season management including disease, water management, and fungicide applications, disease management, pod rot, insect pest management, wheat production, and chemical use, etc..... Individuals with pesticide applicators licenses will be awarded two (2) general and one (1) IPM Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) for attending this program.
The meeting will be conducted by the Texas A & M AgriLife Extension Service and the cost of the program will be sponsored by local and area agriculture businesses, so that there is no cost incurred by individuals attending.
